2010/01/27 - Pure Art in Nepal - With several Pure Art projects underway in South America, the Pure Art team travels east to Asia with purpose. One does not have to look far in Nepal to find projects worthy of attention. In the tiny mountain village of Bandipur, off the beaten track in the central hills of Nepal, and well beyond the Kathamandu valley, Pure Art was introduced to the particular needs of a local school. Once an important stop on the historic India-Tibet trade route, today many elements of the village have been neglected, including the roof over the heads of 164 children (ages 6-12) at a local school. Pure Art pledges to re-build the roof of one of the buildings assuring Principle Rabi Shanker Pradhan and teachers that Bandipur is now a part of CAST. Learn more

2009/12/30 - Latest news in 2009 - See you back in 2010! - The recent Christmas Card campaign reached a new high in 2009, with sales of artistic cards for the "One School for All" collection enabling more children than the year before, to attend school in Peru. Well over 200 children will be enrolled thanks to Pure Art funds directly reaching our Registered Donees in time for this year's school start date in March. Pure Art's success was strongly supported by two Schools in Canada who made a welcomed new commitment to the concept of "One School for All" by lending a helping hand to the program. Many thanks to Ecole St. Thomas in Hudson Quebec, and Marie Rainier High School in Kingston Ontario. Read more
The H20 Program has also experienced new growth with the number of fresh water wells in Peru reaching a total of four in Pucallpa and surrounding communities. This gift of providing safe drinking water to people in need has been made possible by the tireless efforts of our Registered Donees working closely within several areas in need. Read more Pure Art is proud to announce that the Medical Dispensary in Nueva Requina, has now been completed and has made a major difference in the lives of villagers in this remote jungle location. Antidote for the common ravages of snake bite is now available to local families who, until now, had limited access to alleviate their suffering. Many thanks to our Registered Donees who ensured that the local workers completed the building on time. Read more A happy update on "Clarita's Home Project" for all those watching for developments on this heart warming Pure Art initiative is that Clarita's House is complete! Through the aid of our Registered Donees, Clarita, the young Down's Syndrome girl, who lived in deplorable conditions with her family last year, now has a real bed to sleep in, under a protective roof.
Wonderful news to report on the wings of "Clarita's Home " is a new extension of this Pure Art initiative. Word of this project spread quickly, both in Pucallpa, and here at home. As new opportunities surfaced, collaborative efforts from Pure Art friends emerged and the concept of "Build a Home in One Night" was born. With the support of local contributors, Pure Art and it's Registered Donees have embarked on a path of constructing additional homes for more Peruvian families in need. Based on first response, a whole new contribution program has been created: CAST - or "Construct a Structure Today".

2009/08/08 - Encouraging news from the front line personnel in the heart of Peru bring an inspiring chapter to the Pure Art story. - Foundation projects are taking shape at a rapid pace, especially in Nueva Requina where the local Health Authorities have approved the Pure Art Medical Dispensary and put in motion the acquisition of trained medical personnel to man the clinic. Today, trucks laden with building materials are making their way to this remote jungle village where local trades people prepare for construction. The villagers are comforted to learn there will finally be relief from the ravages of snake bite venom and are anxious to have the antidote available, and perhaps other medications as well. Everyone is excited that the plans are advancing quickly.
Not far away in the village of San Juan, another Pure Art project forges forward and builds a community stronger through the "Sewing Machine" initiative with the Shipibo Indians. Three sewing machines have been provided by Pure Art to date, and a self sustaining cycle has been put in motion, as the women sew fabric and items for the Pure Art site that will directly benefit their community. This simple program has sparked a a motivated series of events that will see hand-crafted bags created by these very people, on the Pure Art site. To be available soon. Stay tuned !
The Health to Offer program (H20) has moved forward with the addition of two new fresh water wells in the Pucallpa area, bringing the total number of Pure Art wells to four and clean drinking water to many. The foundation will also engage in a new initiative that will see the development of a new Community Centre and a special new housing program called "Clarita's Home" Project. This is the newest Pure Art program and was initiated to bring immediate relief to a struggling family in the depths of poverty in Pucallpa, living without shelter from the elements. Young Clarita's story is unique, as she struggles in a world of many obstacles, handicapped with Down's Syndrome and Pure Art has committed to reconstruct her dilapidated living conditions. Take a moment and meet Clarita on the video "Clarita's Home project".
Clearly none of the above updates would be possible without the generous support of Pure Art contributors and we are grateful for your decision to join us on our journey. Your kind contributions have enabled Pure Art to engage in truly meaningful change and directly impact on many lives abroad. Based on the overwhelming success of the Christmas Card program, for example, which brought the gift of education to so many school children in Peru through the Children's Contribution Program, Pure Art will design a new set of cards for a third year in 2009. Also new for this year is a very special "Year in Box" gift set of cards, specifically created to meet the requests of so many Pure Art fans. This collection of specialized blank cards will incorporate beautiful drawings by the Pure Art Team presenting themes on cards for each month. Now the Holiday "spirit of giving" can be extended through all seasons of the year. Be sure to watch for their arrival and spread the Pure Art word, knowing that proceeds go directly to those in need.
The road ahead is Pure Art! Come join us on the adventure......
